*NEW STANDARDS Door Supervisor Course

June 1st sees the start of the 'new style' Door Supervisor SIA Licensing Course. All the licensing courses have been 're-vamped' with the CCTV and Guarding courses already in effect.

The new Doors course now incorporates Physical Intervention (PI) training and is completed after the Conflict Management unit. It provides the 'next step', what happens if someone grabs me? How do I escort a customer from a premises? PI covers Disengagement and Escorting techniques employing non-aggressive and non-pain compliant interventions.

The new course is a modular format and covers:

Part 1 Working in the Security Industry, this is the 'common' unit and is covered on all licensing courses. If you have already done this unit as part of the Guarding or CCTV course you will not need to re-do it.

Part 2 Working as a Door Supervisor (specialist unit)

Part 3 Communication and Conflict Management, like part 1 if you have completed this as part of the Guarding or CViT licence you will not need to re-do it.

Part 4 Physical Intervention Skills

The course, as before, will run over 4 days. There will be multiple choice exams for parts 1, 2, and 3 with part 4 (PI) assessed by the tutor.

The first of the new style courses will be run at the Royal British Legion in June, see course bookings for information on how to book.
